Checking a email to see if it’s a scam and scam phone calls

just thought I would post this info about emails and getting some information on sender. 
If you click on email senders name it will bring up another name on who the sender is if it’s a scam you will get a completely different address then just delete them 👍 

if ever you are in doubt about a scam phone call.  then phone the company from a different phone so your call is then safe

You're right there BJS, can't be too careful. I posted on the other Antara site about being scammed by a fake Amazon email which asked me to confirm my account details, thing is it looked so convincing. I also received one supposedly from British Airways for our holiday flights earlier this year which was almost correct except it got my flight reference number slightly wrong so I twigged it. Thing is I contacted BA (as a member of the exec club) and basically she couldn't have cared less. When I asked her if there was a department I could forward it to she suugested the BA global site. At least Amazon has a dedicated team to forward scam emails to.

I try not to click anything that is suspicious (I still use a mouse and keyboard) but by holding the cursor over the sender it reveals their true email address - which bears no relation to who they are pretending to be. Certainly that address might have been harvested by others but my BT email allows me to block selected addresses permanently. It works very well. If in doubt - delete it and remember you are in control of what is yours. It is the modern equivalent of a salesman sticking his foot in your front door, so stamp on it. If by chance it is genuine they will contact you again. With a phone call never be afraid of being just plain rude - you owe these s**tbags nothing.
