Hi all Just been looking a currant post via Facebook. Apparently people are having success in removing the prop shaft if you have transfer box failure. Someone has even had it removed by Vauxhall whilst waiting for a new box.

Some of us may recall a chap who specialized in removing the innards from (manual) Antara transfer boxes and arranging for any damaged cases to be welded as a repair - all for a few hundred pounds. This gave a 2WD vehicle and the prop shaft remained in place. Not sure what - if anything - happens beyond that though with the other bits which decide whether or not a wheel needs to be driven.
