Does Any One Kno What This noise is?

merry Christmas and a happy new year too everyone..

woke up this morning and heard a little noise when I pulled off, didn’t think nothing of it but when I was revising tonight I heard it again loudly as I had the windows open, also when I when driving home and gave it some to over take there was a horrible grumbling noise and loads of vibrations. Can't say for sure Mratk but it sounds like the clutch / dual mass flywheel (DMF) to me. Best to take it to a garage where they can have a proper look at it.

Thanks for that victor I fort the same but had a feeling it may have been something to do with the transfer box also as making wired sound when you rev it in neutral over 17500 20000 rpm cheers

WHen you're sitting with the engine running (idling or revving) and the gearbox in neutral, the gearbox output shaft is not turning. Since the output shaft drives the transfer box I doubt whether the noise is transfer box related. Can't rule out transfer box bearings etc until the vehicle has been road tested and further diagnosed but that's a job for the experts.
