Does the manual cover re-setting the service light after doing an oil and filter change on the Series 2 Antara with the 2.2 engine?

Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations Usage Fluid/Lubricant Engine Oil The engine requires engine oil approved to the dexos™ specification. Oils meeting this specification can be identified with the dexos™ certification mark. Look for and use only an engine oil that displays the dexos™ certification mark of the proper viscosity grade. SAE 5W-30 is best for the vehicle. SAE 0W-30, 0W-40, or 5W-40 can also be used. Engine Coolant 50/50 mixture of clean, drinkable water and use only DEX-COOL Coolant. Hydraulic Brake System DOT 4 Hydraulic Brake Fluid. Hydraulic Clutch System DOT 4 Hydraulic Brake Fluid. Windscreen Washer Optikleen® Washer Solvent. Hydraulic Power Steering System GM Power Steering Fluid. Automatic Transmission DEXRON®-VI Automatic Transmission Fluid. Key Lock Cylinders Multi-Purpose Lubricant, Superlube. Bonnet Latch Assembly, Secondary Latch, Pivots, Spring Anchor, and Release Pawl Lubriplate Lubricant Aerosol or lubricant meeting requirements of NLGI #2, Category LB or GC-LB. Bonnet and Door Hinges Multi-Purpose Lubricant, Superlube. Weatherstrip Conditioning Weatherstrip Lubricant or Dielectric Silicone Grease.

GM Oil Life System Resetting When the system has calculated that oil life has been diminished, it will indicate that an oil change is necessary. A CHANGE message will come on. Change the engine oil as soon as possible within the next 600 miles (1000 km). It is possible that, if driving under the best conditions, the oil life may not indicate that an oil change is necessary for over a year. However, the engine oil and filter must be changed at least once a year and at this time the system must be reset. If the system is ever reset accidentally, change the engine oil at 3000 miles (5000 km) since last oil change. How to Reset the Engine Oil Life System Reset the system whenever the engine oil is changed so that the system can calculate the next oil change. To reset the Engine Oil Life System, do the following: 1. Turn the ignition key to ON / RUN with the engine OFF. 2. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds of turning the ignition key. If the Change Engine Oil light does not appear, the system is reset. If the Change Engine Oil light comes back on when the vehicle is started, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

Thanks for the info mratk but I think the press accelerator three times method only applies to the Series 1 Antara. I've read numerous posts from other owners who say it doesn't work on the Series 2. I had my Antara serviced from new by the dealer for its first two services so I don't know how or if they rer-set it. When I had the car serviced last year by an indie his diagnostic equipment was out for repair so he couldn't reset it via the OBDII port but told me to come back if the light came on and he would do it. So far the light has stayed off but I'm expecting it to appear any time. I believe you need Opcom or Tech2 to reset it.

No problem at all I think it applies for both but this is for turning engine oil light off, not the service light. But yes you are correct that you need a plug in software that takes the service light off what is the car and the spanner symbol. I have the icarsoft Professionals tool for Vauxhall’s bought for my old Astra and has functions for the Antara that works perfect was very cheap aswell about 30£ worth looking into
