Hi everyone. Looking at getting a used car warranty but one that doesn't require a dealer service to validate it. Worrying about any transfer box issues in the future. Anyway the AA does one so waiting for a call back. Anyone one here have a similar warranty.

No. I thought about it after three years had expired but came to the conclusion that I would continue to have the car serviced by Vauxhall (plus the transfer box oil checked), using GM parts and consumables. Time will tell as I plan to have the car for seven years from the date of manufacture. Use will be less than 10000 miles a year of mostly motorway driving. I avoid short hops like the plague.

Hi ray mind the small print regarding ware and tear On some previous antara owners some transfer boxes went and some warranties paid £2000 to £5500 out but some did not It a bit of a minefield as you only find out how good a warrenty is when you put in a claim I looked a few years ago but opted out just keep an eye on oil levels and correct oil is used my transfer box I top up each year and then replace oil on 3 year searvices been all good so far If anything it will be soursing parts but then that’ll be dealers Have you joined the Vauxhall’s service club as you get 25% discount on dealer parts my.vauxhall.co.uk/serviceClubDiscount

Just not right is it. You pay for something and you expect the service. Like everything in this world. Going to drop a bit of oil out to bring the level down but it's already contaminated I suppose.

Just as a comment on that Mazda 6 diesel, I seem to recall reading that they suffered from timing chain stretch and Mazda ised some weird combination of using the DPF warning light to warn if the stretch had affected the valve timing.
