i have posted before about DPF regenerations which for a long time were happening every 500-520 miles and suddenly changed to anything between 250-450 miles. Took the car into the dealer as last time it happened, it was due to a faulty EGR cooler. Dealer checked the car over but as there were no fault codes, didn't do anything. At my request, the dealer raised a technical case with Vx who eventually came back saying that this was normal. Add to this intermittent hesitation in all gears between 1500 & 2000 rpm and now an inability to get more than 30mpg regardless of the journey and I am sure something is not right. The car also seems to run hot as it takes forever for the engine to cool after being switched off (a couple of hours at least). Did a 50 mile motorway run today in the rain, not really going over 70 and got home and the cooling fans were running continuously (not doing a Regen and AC off).
I have become convinced that the EGR valve is not working correctly but does anyone else have any nuggets of wisdom or experience on any of this?
